Mothers & Daughters, this is for y’all.Hearing for the first time that I would be having a daughter (Dream), I vowed to be a mother who helps her grow into a well-rounded woman. To all the young women out there: if you’re reading this, please show your daughter love and respect, peace and kindness, discipline and life skills. Teach her about Jesus, teach her how to be a lady, to be brave, to have courage, to set boundaries, to be a helper when in need, and to treat everyone with respect and forgiveness. Show her how to lead with love in her heart and in every aspect of her life. Help her voice her opinions and communicate with her, because you can be an absent mom in the same house. Please remind her she’s worth it, that she’s enough, and that she’s deeply loved.(Please read this a few times.)Listen to me: be clear and honest with her about your own truths as an adult so she doesn’t feel like she’s the problem, and model healthy ways to handle triggers. So when she faces future situations, she’ll remember how you responded and how you dealt with hardship. Through your leadership, lifestyle, and example, she’ll have the tools to navigate life.Our daughter’s childhood is sacred, and these years are precious. Please don’t take this for granted. Remember you can either break her heart or fill it. I know some days are harder than others; you’re human. But let me tell you something you should already know: as a child we don’t always remember the exact events of our childhood we only remember the feeling and emotion. Some wounds can’t be healed only Jesus can heal. Trauma, emptiness, abandonment, trust all real. So, mothers, stay present and active. Your baby girl’s soul needs to understand what real love is, not what beauty, material things, or money can buy.So, mothers, I pray for peace to find you. It’s hard. I GET IT. It’s okay to cry yourself to sleep, and give it to Jesus so you can wake up as a stronger woman and a better mother to your daughter. Protect her, fight for her she deserves unconditional motherly love. Thank you God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, for teaching me how to be the best Mommy for King and Dream.~ Angela White
