This week I received an award called the “Hollywood Icon” from the Women’s Guild Cedars- Sinai. It was given to me in recognition of the work I’ve done to raise awareness about women’s health, but behind all the glamour and applause, one moment kept flashing through my mind: the moment when my life came to a sudden halt because of a massive blood clot in my brain. It was a terrifying and shaking experience that reminded me how fragile life is, and how essential awareness of women’s health truly is. It’s not a luxury- it’s a necessity.I’m sharing this not to create drama, but to remind every woman: listen to your body. Don’t ignore the signs, don’t postpone check-ups, and don’t feel guilty about putting your health first.And even though I was the one receiving that particular award, the real heroes were the ones not on a stage. They are the people working in hospitals, in emergency rooms - the doctors, nurses, technicians, and medical teams who devote their lives to saving others, day after day, hour after hour. The award truly belongs to them.Thank you to my incredible team of Cedar Sinai doctors who saved my life, and to the nurses, the residents, the pharmacists who all collectively supported in my recovery.
