Reporting from @theopenworlds championships! 💃🕺Every year this competition gets bigger better and stronger and Mila’s achievements are just remarkable! She made under 10yrs Open to the world Latin final dancing 4 rounds among super strong international dancers! She was the only 🇬🇧dancer to make this very prestigious final! We also had many recalls from under 12yrs Latin dancing all the way to top 24 dancers from 80 competitors!!!!! She is still just 8yrs of age and her ability to hold her own among strong and much older dancers is really impressive 💪🏻It is always a big personal challenge to step on the floor in front of international judges who have never seen her before, but that’s why this results even more important. While we compete often in national and regional competitions the results sadly very often are “questionable”so to get in front of this prestigious panel of adjudicators among super strong soloists is a very important part of growing as a competitor. She has plenty to learn and she has plenty of things to develop, but I also teach her to understand that you can’t win everything and you can’t be in every final, but you can put yourself out there and compete against your strongest opponents. I believe that reality check is really important and I teach her to be resilient and strong regardless of the results. APPRECIATION POST 💃🕺Still recovering from Sunday but it’s time to express my gratitude for many people who’s made Northants open championships a huge success: As the first time promoter the worst thing you can have as a first text in the morning of your first competition is that your music DJ simply not coming … I can’t really describe the stress I went through that morning. I can only count my lucky stars that I had people by my side who stepped in and saved the day - massive thank you to @dragoshepcall who played a fantastic music all day and kept the event going, honestly I don’t know what I would have done without you, thank you my friend! And big thank you to @a_teck_ant_foreman & Hannah who supplied the speakers so the Competition can go on! Forever grateful for saving the day🙏🏻I am also so very humbled by the support of local businesses who came together to support our local dancers and give them the chance to have a really good competition because let’s be fair - for a lot of them going to big comps like Blackpool or London is not affordable. The main purpose of my competition was to give local talent a chance to shine so massive thank you to our official Trophies & medals sponsors @wilsonbrownesolicitors - I could not have done it without you! Embracing new experiences! Last week I was invited to Mercer & Hole Audit Conference at Rothamsted Conference Centre. While most of people knew of me as a former Strictly Come Dancing Professional dancer I was mainly interviewed as a Co-Founder at Soo Yoga and shared my insights on what it’s like to run a business after pandemic and lessons I carried from the dance floor to the boardroom. While being a business owner in current economic conditions is undoubtedly a very challenging task I talked about what motivates me to keep moving forward, keep reinventing myself and keep striving to be the best I can be. Mila had a fantastic day yesterday dancing absolutely incredible and making all of her under 10yrs finals and very unexpectedly under 12yrs semi finals! The fact that there were a lot of international dancers along with the amazing talent we have here in the UK in solo division made these results even more impressive! Reporting from @wdo_world_dance_organisation championship in Cologne Germany! We are finally back home ???? what a trip that was! Mila absolutely smashed it winning every single Latin dance in under 10yrs, making ALL under 10yrs placing 3rd and even under 12yrs Ballroom & Latin finals! ????????????????????????????????????????????????She was the only British girl and a 8yrs old who made those under 12yrs finals, dancing from 8am to 7pm with most of events staring from 1/8 or 1/4 finals. Most importantly she danced in front of an international panel of judges who have never seen her before and to win so many events among very strong international dancers from around the Europe is so very special. To say I am proud of her it’s to say nothing, I am beyond happy not just with her results, but I also with her resilience dancing in tiniest space among a lot of much older dancers but still holding her own no matter what! We also took part in World team match supporting team GB ????????, we want to say a big thank you to @chachaschooldance for inviting us to take part and it was a privilege helping this wonderful team to place 3rd ???? It was definitely a very interesting experience and we love exploring international competitions where we can dance in front of new judges, great dancers and get a chance to assess the level of Mila’s dancing without any prejudice or previous results! BLACKPOOL NATIONAL DANCE FESTIVAL 2024????Just reflecting on the past weekend at @blackpooldancefestivalofficial and what an incredible experience this was for Mila! We are very pleased to make 14!!!! under 10yrs finals, WIN under 10yrs Chacha/Jive event, become 2nd in ballroom quickstep final, make under 12yrs Latin Semi final and make both National Championships under 10yrs Ballroom & Latin finals!!!!! ????????She danced her heart out and gave her all to each and every dance as she always does competing non stop from 8.30am till 8pm! The results are really amazing especially because all 11 judges either haven’t seen her dancing before at all or saw her over 2 years ago. WOW WOW WOW! What an awesome Wheel yoga teacher training session I had today with 13 the most amazing ladies!
