Kirk Douglas can be claimed a living legend. The 101st birthday of the screen icon has passed.
He celebrated it with his 98-year-old wife Anne. The star had a healthy and happy look. He was visited by his family. Joel and Michael, his sons, also were present as well as Kelsey Douglas, his granddaughter.
The Spartacus star sat near Anne when he blew out the candle on his birthday cake. The cake had “101” in big numbers. It featured sunflowers on top and 1 candle.
The sunflowers referenced to the actor’s greatest performances as Vincent Van Gogh in Lust for Life. This information was given by Kirk’s son Michael.
Another snap features Douglas and one more cake. It featured a couple of red boxing gloves referencing to his 1st Academy Award-nominated role in Champion.
Catherine Zeta-Jones, Kirk’s daughter-in-law could not come, but she wrote a sweet message to her father-in-law on the Web.
