2017 has already given pleasant things to Mel Gibson.
The star and Rosalind Ross, his girlfriend, welcomed a boy this Friday. They named him Lars Gerard. The boy is the 9th Gibson’s son. Just 4 days after that the actor won an Academy Award nod for best director for the World War II epic called Hacksaw Ridge.
The 61-year-old celebrity shared that there could be nothing more pleasant that listening to the nominations announcement and holding his newborn son at the same time. That was a wonderful honour for him.
According to Mel, he is especially proud of Andrew Garfield, editor John Gilbert, their incredible sound teams and producers David Permut and Bill Mechanic. The film is nominated for best picture, best sound mixing, best actor, best sound editing and best film editing.
Last time when Gibson won the award happened back in 1996. He received it for Braveheart.
