Rihanna attended the hallowed halls of Harvard this Tuesday. The singer got the prestigious honour of 2017 Humanitarian of the Year by the Harvard Foundation for Intercultural and Race Relations.
The director of this foundation stated that the singer has charitably built a state-of-the-art centre for oncology and nuclear medicine that helps to diagnose and treat breast cancer at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. This hospital is located in Bridgetown (Barbados). She got the honour for her philanthropic initiatives. So, the students and faculty of the Harvard Foundation decided to honour the star.
Having got onstage, Rihanna said “So I made it to Harvard!” Her speech included flashbacks from childhood. According to her, she was inspired for charity in her childhood.
