It is reported that Rub & Tug is a film about the life of Dante Gill, nicknamed Tex, who in the 70s in US opened massage salons to mask the activities of brothels, in which men also worked.
The Variety publication wrote that "a film based on real history will be dedicated to a woman ... achieving prosperity in the business of massage parlors and prostitution involving men." The Hollywood Reporter described the film as "a drama about a sexually ambivalent owner of a massage parlor."
