Catch George Clooney, Emma Stone, and Other A-Listers at the 2025 Venice Film Festival

Stars are gearing up to navigate the picturesque canals during the 2025 Venice Film Festival.
The annual celebration is scheduled to commence in Italy on August 27 and will continue until September 6. Celebrities have begun arriving to honor the unofficial kickoff of awards season.
George Clooney and Amal Clooney
George Clooney and his wife, Amal Clooney, were spotted greeting fans from their boat. The 64-year-old Clooney opted for a relaxed look, donning a black polo shirt, beige khakis, and aviator sunglasses. Amal, 47, exuded effortless elegance in a butter yellow calf-length gown, accessorized with a gold belt, white heels, and a coordinating white handbag.
George is in Venice to promote his latest project, Jay Kelly, where he portrays the eponymous character, a renowned actor embarking on an unexpected journey alongside his manager, played by Adam Sandler. Sandler also arrived early for the festival, sporting his trademark basketball shorts and carrying an actual basketball.
Emma Stone
Emma Stone attended the festival with a bright smile and a baseball cap. She is collaborating once more with director Yorgos Lanthimos on their new film, Bugonia. In this 36-year-old star's role, she plays a high-powered CEO of a major corporation who is abducted by two conspiracy-minded young men. Her co-stars include Jesse Plemons and Alicia Silverstone.
Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein
The Venice Film Festival will also showcase Guillermo del Toro's rendition of Frankenstein, premiering in theaters on October 17 before making its way to Netflix on November 7. The adaptation features Oscar Isaac as Victor Frankenstein and Jacob Elordi portraying his infamous creation—a role that required Elordi to spend nearly ten hours a day in makeup.
Jacob shared with Variety on August 20 that, “The costume has numerous layers. When he’s first brought to life, he’s scarcely dressed, with an exposed chest and elevated stance.” He further elaborated on his character's development, explaining that as the monster begins to feel pain similarly to a teenager, he hunches his shoulders, and as an adult, he becomes more closed off.
Other Notable Attendees
Adam Sandler was in his usual flair on August 26, sporting pink shorts and a graphic button-up shirt, and brought along a basketball, perhaps intending to shoot some hoops in Italy.
Emma Stone accompanied by her husband of five years and their four-year-old daughter, Louise Jean, kept things casual as they prepared for the Venice premiere of Bugonia.
Laura Dern, known for her role in Jurassic Park, greeted fans with a wave upon her arrival in Venice for Jay Kelly.
Heidi Klum, host of Project Runway, looked stunning in a coordinated red pants and shirt ensemble while posing for admirers.
The Clooney family, including Oscar-winner George and human rights attorney Amal, who share 8-year-old twins Ella and Alexander, were among the first to arrive on August 26 as George prepared to promote his newest film, Jay Kelly.
