Kim Kardashian Stuns in Sheer Facade at 2025 Academy Museum Celebration
Kim Kardashian continues to command attention across social media and fashion circles.
During the 2025 Academy Museum Gala on October 18, the reality TV icon graced the event in a striking Maison Margiela creation, showcasing a nude-themed couture outfit paired with a comprehensive face mask.
Despite the mask concealing her features, Kim assured fans that her makeup was meticulously done underneath.
"Maison Margiela is a brand I deeply admire," Kim shared with Variety from the red carpet. "I brought along my top makeup artist, Mario [Dedivanovic], all the way from New York. This look was a bit last-minute, so he might have mixed feelings about it."
When questioned about dining during the gala, Kim responded, "I opted not to eat during the event. I had a meal beforehand to ensure I was comfortable throughout the night."
The unique opaque outfit immediately caught her attention during the Margiela runway presentation.
"It has a very SKIMS-inspired vibe," Kim explained. Her attire also featured a dazzling silver choker adorned with jewels. "When I saw this piece in the Margiela collection, it resonated with my SKIMS aesthetic and felt quintessentially me. I reached out to secure it." She praised designer Glenn Martens for his innovative combination of the mask and necklace.
Kim's Iconic Mask Moments
Kim's current masked appearance echoes her bold 2021 Met Gala outfit, where she donned an all-black ensemble by Demna Gvasalia of Balenciaga, fully covering herself from head to toe.
Initially hesitant about the masked look, Kim revealed she contemplated omitting the mask.
"I resisted the idea at first. Covering my face? It just didn’t feel right to me," she recounted to Vogue in 2022. "But Demna and the team emphasized that it was a costume-themed gala, not a typical Vanity Fair event. The mask was essential to embody the theme."
