Kylie Minogue Comments on Taylor Swift's 'Showgirl'-Themed Album Launch

Kylie Minogue has a rich history intertwined with the glamorous world of showgirls.

While Taylor Swift hasn’t dropped her twelfth album yet, she embraced the showgirl persona during her Showgirl: The Greatest Hits Tour back in 2005, and the similarities between their careers are drawing attention.

"Seeing all my friends send me nostalgic Showgirl moments!!!" Kylie expressed on Instagram on August 14. "The showgirl lifestyle is truly multifaceted and extends far beyond just feathers and sparkle."

At 57, Kylie also extended her support to Taylor as she ventures into a new phase of her career, stating, "Much respect and admiration to all the dedicated showgirls out there."

Kylie's heartfelt nod to her own showgirl experience comes shortly after Taylor revealed The Life of a Showgirl in a discussion with her boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce on the New Heights podcast on August 13.

"I was developing this project while touring Europe on the Eras Tour," Taylor shared. "There were intense schedules with multiple shows and brief breaks, flying between countries like Sweden before hitting the road again."

Collaborating once more with famed producers Max Martin and Shellback, Taylor highlighted that the album helped sustain her through the demanding 2024 tour.

"By this point, my body was worn out, but my mind was buzzing with creativity and excitement for what I was building," Taylor confessed.

Travis added, "I was literally experiencing the life of a showgirl alongside her."

Taylor agreed, saying, "Absolutely nailed it. This album delves into the personal experiences and vibrant energy I felt behind the scenes during the tour."

Both Taylor and Travis, who humorously mentioned he’s already listened to the entire album, promised fans a collection filled with standout tracks.

"It felt like capturing lightning in a bottle," Taylor elaborated on the album's vibe. "I'm putting a lot of pressure on this record because I love it so much."

Tales of Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift

Their romance took flight when Travis Kelce first caught Taylor's attention after struggling to gift her a friendship bracelet during a July 2023 stop at Arrowhead Stadium on the New Heights podcast.

Taylor revealed that Travis didn’t contact her management to arrange a meeting, instead attempting to connect through an acquaintance at the venue.

"He thought he could just talk to the elevator attendant to get to my dressing room," Taylor joked in the August 2025 episode. "He was like, 'I know someone. I can make this happen.'"

As for the bracelet, Taylor mentioned she hasn't seen the original piece.

Travis added, "They didn’t leave the stadium because I was upset."

Travis shared on his podcast the exact moment he decided he wanted to date Taylor: "If I hadn’t attended that concert and been completely mesmerized, I wouldn’t have reached out and shared how I felt."

He continued, "Seeing you energize an entire stadium and then getting to know you was like meeting someone I've always known."

Taylor echoed his sentiments, saying, "I felt the same way about you."
