Russell Crowe's Health Reset

Oscar winner Russell Crowe has turned his attention to wellness after wrapping filming on the historical drama Nuremberg. He says his weight dropped from 277 pounds (126 kg) to about 222 pounds (101 kg) as he cut back on booze, attributing much of the change to fewer casual drinks.

On The Joe Rogan Experience on November 5, he explained that aging has taught him to know his limits. He now limits drinking to one enjoyable evening per week and avoids the in-between sips that can add up over time.

Crowe now waits for a special occasion to drink, often choosing a fine wine for dinner rather than everyday casuals. He also credited treatment for past injuries—shots for arthritic shoulders and knees—that have calmed inflammation. He noted inflammation has lessened by roughly 70 percent overall, with his right shoulder showing about 90 percent improvement.

He says the transformation is gradual, but he is happy with the progress, joking that the journey is now a rock and roll affair.
