Timothée Chalamet has unveiled his latest look, trading his signature brown waves for a sleek buzzcut this past summer. The 29-year-old made his first public appearance showcasing his shaved head in an Instagram video for Marty Supreme on October 7th.

Fans also caught a glimpse of his new hairstyle in person when he strolled through New York City. He donned a navy half-zip sweatshirt, relaxed jeans, brown boots, and a denim baseball cap that subtly revealed his transformation. During the New York Film Festival on October 6th, the Dune star opted for a different black baseball cap to keep his bald look under wraps while attending photo shoots.

Creative Concealment and Style Evolution

Chalamet has been inventive with his headwear to hide his new hairstyle over the past few months. In July, he sported a green bandana while vacationing in Saint-Tropez with his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner. The following month, he was seen wearing a camo cap with his black sweatshirt hood pulled up at a Premier League match in London.

With the production of Dune: Part Three slated to begin in July, as reported by Variety, it's conceivable that the Oscar-nominated actor shaved his head for the role. Chalamet is well-known for his willingness to alter his appearance to fit his characters.

Transforming for Roles and Career Growth

Reflecting on his dedication to his craft, Chalamet shared with NPR’s All Things Considered in January how he transformed physically and behaviorally to portray Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown, including gaining 20 pounds. This commitment contrasts with earlier in his career when his lean physique led to missed opportunities.

In a 2024 interview with Rolling Stone, he mentioned being turned down for roles in films like The Maze Runner and Divergent due to not having the 'right body.' These setbacks pushed him towards independent films, ultimately propelling his career to new heights.

"I approached what I thought were more modest opportunities, but they ended up being tremendously impactful for me," he explained.
