Why Kim Kardashian Openly Revealed Her Bar Exam Setback
Kim Kardashian had no hesitation about publicly sharing the news of her bar exam failure.
The reality TV icon and law student, who has dedicated six years to her legal education, explained that she felt it was best to be transparent before rumors circulated online.
"The results come out on a Friday, and by Sunday morning, I knew they’d be all over the internet," Kim revealed in an interview with the New York Times published on December 4. "I thought, ‘Let’s just get this out there. It’s disappointing because I invested so much effort, but I also recognize what I can improve.’"
She added, "I’m quite skilled at transforming setbacks into motivation. I don’t have time to dwell on this. You can feel down briefly, but then you have to redirect that energy into studying harder."
Although she was initially shaken by the outcome, the 45-year-old took a moment to absorb what it meant.
"It was definitely a tough pill to swallow," she confessed. "I felt uneasy and lacked confidence for some time."
Looking Ahead
So, what’s next for Kim?
On November 8, when she first announced her bar exam results on Instagram Stories, she wrote, "Not passing isn’t failure—it’s fuel. I came so close, and that just pushes me to work even harder."
Even if she had cleared the exam, the SKIMS founder made it clear that her commitment to studying wouldn’t wane. Speaking with journalist Martha Debayle last month, Kim stated, "Discipline is a form of self-respect."
"I enjoy the structure studying gives me," she continued. "Maybe it’s control, but I love that environment and find comfort in it regardless of the outcome."
Reflecting on her journey, Kim emphasized, "It just wasn’t my moment this time, but I immediately understood that there’s a bigger lesson here—I have to push harder, improve, and come back stronger."
