Witney Carson Reveals Heartfelt Letter From Robert Irwin Ahead of Emotional Dancing With the Stars Finale
Robert Irwin and Witney Carson have developed a bond that goes beyond their roles as dance partners.
Witney, a seasoned pro on Dancing With the Stars since 2014, recently posted a heartfelt note penned by the young conservationist before the upcoming finale on November 25.
"I admire your bravery as you juggle an incredible workload while being an amazing mother, and your perseverance and kindness even under immense pressure are truly inspiring," the note read, which Witney shared on her Instagram Story. "You've taught me life lessons that I'll carry with me forever. I feel fortunate to know the Carson / Mc Allister family."
At just 21 years old, Robert acknowledged that although their partnership on the show was ending, their connection would remain strong.
"Even though this chapter is closing, you’ve got me in your corner always. We Irwins are hard to shake off!" he added. "Sorry, but I’m not going anywhere."
He wrapped up his message with a memorable line: "Whenever in doubt—just send it."
Witney expressed gratitude for the letter and the bouquet of roses Robert surprised her with, posting, "If you need another reason to adore Robert Irwin, here it is."
The emotional intensity was palpable as both Witney and Robert, who faced a rib injury during their final rehearsal week, shared a touching video reflecting on their time together.
"Witney, this is it," Robert said in the clip on his Instagram Story. "I’m really not ready for it to end, I can’t believe it’s happening."
He continued, "Thank you for giving me the most incredible experience of my life. It’s been unforgettable."
Witney answered, "Thank you for everything; this journey has been so meaningful and memorable."
The duo savored their final moments before stepping onto the dance floor one last time.
"It feels surreal; here we are about to do the final dress rehearsal," Robert shared. "Love you all, we’ll see you soon."
Robert is among the final five contestants aiming for the Mirrorball Trophy, alongside Alix Earle, Dylan Efron, Jordan Chiles, and Elaine Hendrix.
He has been regarded as a strong contender from the start. Before the season began in August, pros Jenna Johnson and Val Chmerkovskiy expressed their belief that Steve Irwin’s son and Bindi Irwin’s brother could make it all the way to the finale.
"There’s something about his positivity and energy that’s infectious," Jenna told E! News in August. "They’re such a wonderful family. I’m really excited to watch his journey. He’s going to bring an incredible spirit to the show."
Val also shared his thoughts on Robert joining the competition: "It’s clear when someone is a frontrunner before the season even starts."
