David Harbour Opens Up About Reuniting With Millie Bobby Brown on a New Netflix Spy Drama

David Harbour says teaming up with Millie Bobby Brown again feels completely natural.

The Stranger Things star said he was eager to work with Brown on a new Netflix project, laughing that the two of them “can’t get enough” of one another after spending a decade portraying father and daughter.

“I can go anywhere in the world and people recognize the Hopper-and-Eleven connection,” Harbour told E! News exclusively at the 2026 Creative Arts Emmy Awards on Sept. 6. “There was something about that bond that felt incredibly special to me.”

Even though Stranger Things wrapped in 2025 after five seasons, the 51-year-old actor said he still wanted to take the core of their on-screen dynamic and use it as a foundation for something fresh.

“We wanted to take the pieces of what worked between us and shape a story that felt original and different,” he said. “What we have is really a working partnership. We enjoy what we bring out in each other, and we both understand how to serve the bigger story.”

Harbour added that he values the chance to keep collaborating with Brown and sees their connection as more than just nostalgia from their previous hit series.

Netflix says the upcoming untitled show follows a fallen FBI agent who is pulled back into duty after his estranged daughter, Rebecca, also an FBI agent, disappears in the middle of an operation. Harbour and Brown, 22, will both star in the series and serve as executive producers.

Brown’s husband, Jake Bongiovi, is also attached as an executive producer, while Emmy-winning Adolescence writer Jack Thorne, who previously collaborated with Brown on the Enola Holmes films, is writing the script.

Harbour said the project has surprised him in the best way. “It’s very unexpected, and we’ve created something I’m extremely proud of,” he said. “We already have two scripts, and I’m genuinely excited to keep going.”
