Eva Mendes Opens Up About Her Meaningful Ryan Gosling Tattoo

Eva Mendes is still very attached to the tattoo she dedicated to Ryan Gosling.

Years after first revealing the ink, the Ghost Rider star recently offered a small but heartfelt detail about the design on her inner wrist, which includes the words “de Gosling” in honor of the actor.

Following an Instagram post on Aug. 28 that featured black-and-white images from a photoshoot, one of which showed the tattoo, a follower reacted with, “The tattoo, I can’t!”

Mendes responded simply, “It’s the only one I have, the only one I’ve ever wanted,” along with a heart-eyes emoji.

The 52-year-old actress, who shares daughters Esmeralda, 11, and Amada, 10, with Gosling, has long kept the relationship mostly private.

She first displayed the tattoo publicly in 2022, and the phrase on her wrist appeared in several of her posts later that year. Although many assumed it was new, Mendes later suggested the ink had been there much longer than fans realized.

When a former makeup artist asked whether the tattoo was genuine, Mendes replied that it was old and that the person had seen it before, adding a warm message to the exchange.

The meaning behind the tattoo also prompted speculation that the couple may have quietly married, though Mendes has never formally confirmed any wedding.

Still, she casually referred to Gosling as her “husband” during a 2022 interview while speaking about life in Australia, saying she was enjoying time there with him and their children.

In a later interview, Mendes also gave a glimpse into what helps keep their relationship strong, explaining that they make time for regular date nights and enjoy going to the movies together.
