Halle Berry Embraces a Carefree Attitude in New Phase of Her Life

Halle Berry is living life on her own terms.

When her fellow Crime 101 cast members—such as Chris Hemsworth, Nick Nolte, and Mark Ruffalo—picked her as the likeliest to pull off a heist, Halle credited this to the mindset she's adopted at this point in her life.

“They know I’ve reached a place where I simply don’t care anymore,” Halle told E! News’ Erin Lim Rhodes during the LA premiere of the film on February 10. “So naturally, they think I’d be the one to take the risk. Why not? I have zero worries holding me back.”

Her character Sharon in the movie has often been overlooked and undervalued, pushing her to betray her employer. Off-screen, Halle has long been a vocal advocate for women’s rights and representation in Hollywood and beyond.

“I’ve been clear about the importance of this message,” she explained, “and now, I refuse to fade away or disappear into the background.”

The Oscar-winning actress describes this chapter as just the beginning of her “second act,” expressing excitement about what lies ahead. “I’m simply doing my part,” she said.

Curious why Chris Hemsworth regards Halle as the mastermind of the group? He told E! that she is “the smartest and most sophisticated” among them, while Mark Ruffalo is “too honest and would turn himself in,” and Hemsworth himself admits he might “mess it up.”

Chris also highlighted the joy of working on this heist film, which premieres February 13 and also features Barry Keoghan and Monica Barbaro. “Being surrounded by such incredible talent and passion really elevates everyone’s performance,” he said.

Additionally, the project gave Chris and fellow Marvel star Mark a fresh opportunity to collaborate outside their iconic superhero roles. “After years of playing Thor and Hulk, it was fun to switch gears,” Chris reflected. “We joked around like kids, reminding ourselves this wasn’t the Marvel universe.”

“I really adore him,” Chris added warmly, referring to Mark, “He’s a wonderful person.”
