Today at Clarence House His Majesty The King and Prince’s Trust alumnus @IdrisElba met with young people to discuss the impact of youth violence and the need to create more positive opportunities for young people.HM The King and Idris Elba discussed The Elba Hope Foundation and the impact of their recent ‘Don’t Stop Your Future’ anti knife crime campaign which addresses the rising issue of knife crime among young people. Included in discussion were young people from several youth organisations, as well as the Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer. @ElbaHopeFoundation and The Trust share a joint ambition of supporting and developing opportunities for young people who face employment barriers, both in the UK and around the world.Elba Hope Foundation and The Trust in the UK are thrilled to have partnered to provide exciting new opportunities for young people in the Manchester area. Today, I met with Keir Starmer - first and foremost as a concerned parent and member of our society - to hear his plans to tackle knife crime. I joined a round table with families of victims who courageously shared their experiences. We had in-depth discussions about the problems and the potential solutions for the next stage. Whoever wins the election next week, we’ll make sure they are held to account for the commitments they make. We must do better for our young people and put an end to the senseless violence of knife crime.

I honestly get confused when people ask me what’s it like to have you as a dad but then I realized it’s because no one knows that you are the poster child for “dad joke” dads.
